When using tools in Forest School it is essential that pupils understand how to use them safely. Before actually using tools pupils should learn a "Tool Talk" and these are a set of instructions which are aimed at being memorable and ensure that a good level of knowledge of each tool and how to use it safely is firstly learnt.
Each "Tool Talk" is structured in a similar way so that they are easy to remember. In this section of my blog I will be demonstrating these "Tool Talks" and I will be using a teaching style that is memorable for the age range of children that will be attending Canopy Forest School. I have tried to personalise these and I have been practicing them so that I myself am competent of using each of these tools.
Below you will find the content of the "Tool Talks" which will be used.
