Next Assignment: Explain how holistic development is facilitated through Forest School

Aim

  • To understand the links between the Planning Cycle and holistic development.

  • To recognise the value of a long-term program in fostering personal, social and emotional skills.


Throughout your pilot program you were mapping the holistic development opportunities with your sessions, both in terms of of experiences that you introduced as learner led experiences. Here you will describe how through the planning, observations and session evaluations you both you recognised, provided and adapted experiences to create opportunities for holistic development. Whilst you will recognise many cased from your pilot program, we can also identify how a long-term program would build upon these, providing the Forest Schools Practitioner with the opportunity to support learners in further learning and development, whilst allowing the personal, social and emotional skills to become increasingly nurtured and strengthened.
